This book describes the technological challenges faced by people in the late Middle Ages and how they were overcome in the area of ​​water supply. It examines the problems and expansion of water supplies in Italian cities during the Renaissance period, which significantly influenced the technical development of water supplies in the rest of Europe. Using 12 examples, the high technical standard of water supplies during the Renaissance is illustrated. Particular attention is paid to the use of water in palaces and gardens.
