Masterpieces of ancient technology

Autor: Klaus Grewe

Meisterwerke antiker Technik

The magnificent bridge and tunnel constructions, dams, and pressure pipelines in large parts of the Roman Empire have made a lasting impression on people throughout history. All elements of urban infrastructure, in general, are testaments to a highly technological society. The same applies to the roads, bridges, and the Roman highway network in general, which provided quick access to all parts of the empire. For half a millennium, Roman engineering was one of the foundations for the construction and cohesion of a global empire.

The book explores early technological knowledge and presents selected technological highlights from the Roman Empire. It is also an excellent resource for preparing for a trip to the ancient monuments of technological history.
