Students and young scientists
The Frontinus Society aims to provide special support to students and young researchers who engage with the topics relevant to the Society. The following measures are currently in place to this end:
- Student members, members under the age of 25, and unemployed individuals (upon application) are eligible for a reduced membership fee of 10 euros per year.
- The Frontinus Award is presented annually. It recognizes Bachelor’s and Master’s theses as well as doctoral dissertations that focus on the history of water, energy, and pipeline technology.
- Young scientists and students may apply for a Frontinus scholarship if the preparation of a thesis, dissertation, or fieldwork entails significant financial costs that cannot be covered through other means. We can also provide financial support for attending our symposia, field trips, or conferences.
- Useful information—such as details regarding conferences and symposia—can be downloaded from the page dedicated to early-career researchers and students.
