The volume contains 36 contributions from the conference program. The first section covers the proceedings of the symposium and the celebration of the Frontinus Society’s 40th anniversary. The following section includes contributions on the venue: on Trier’s urban development, on the Roman highlights in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum, on the aqueduct from the Ruwer River, and on current research in the Barbara and Imperial Baths. The other sections cover legal aspects of ancient water management, new research methods for recording and documenting data, contributions on aqueducts and qanat construction technology for water extraction and transport, and water use in thermal baths, nymphaeums, and other inner-city facilities.

The final section deals with various topics such as mining, mills, water distribution and hygiene.
